Little Pradyumna turned One yesterday according to the hindu calendar. The Gregorian calendar celebrated his birthday last month with a cake cutting.The celebration was marked by the Chudakarma Samskara as per the hindu tradition where he was almost tonsured. Surprisingly, he seems to have liked his new look which of course,left his elder sister Samiksha surprised and shocked when she returned from school that afternoon to see a new look Pradyumna look almost as gleeful as ever.. The anklets were the first to go followed by the curly locks and soon the ear danglings..
The event itself was a low key affair with close family including his grandparents and Uncles and Aunts being present. I had to leave for Pune later that evening on a week long work trip. Thanks to all the wellwishers who wished Pradyumna on this memorable day!. Gundubaba rocks!
The week was also memorable due to another milestone when Samiksha learned to cycle solo without the training wheels. She's been cycling like crazy ever since and must have done a few miles already. These days, she is specialising negotiating fast traffic mostly learning to keep pace with her cousin brother Dhruva and another equally bubbly kid Archit. It will not be long before her other cousins Pratyush and Sachet catch up with summer time learnings like swimming and cycling..Truly wunder years when the kids are growing.
